Michael Von Ray (The Magician)
-SF
-3pt Specialist
-Lithuania
-Born: December 11, 1990
-#21

Von Ray is a young 21 year old Lithuanian entering the NBA Draft this year. Von Ray is an excellent 3-pt shooting small forward. Von Ray is definitely ready for the draft this year and is expected to be drafted in the middle of the first round.

In the rookie showcase the Elites beat the Stars 98-82. Von Ray played 21 minutes and scored 19 points. He grabbed 3 rebounds and got 2 blocks.

Here is how the Phoenix Suns interview with Michael Von Ray went.

Phoenix Suns GM: While it's true our team has a lot of needs, I really feel like a SF to build around is what would help us the most at this point. I'm going to be looking at all of the available wings in the draft, but I really wanted to get the chance to talk to you first. I love your game. Tell me, what can you provide to the Phoenix Suns?

Michael Von Ray: I can provide an honest player who gives 110% every night. I'm a player that the team and community can get behind. I make plays, I don't make noise off the court, and I enjoy facilitating the play rather than making it. Not too many people can look you in the eye and tell you that last one. Above all, I want to win and I'll do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Phoenix Suns GM: As a whole, the Suns have kept the same core for the better part of a decade. We found a winning formula and stuck by it, just rotating in supporting places where necessary. As I'm sure you've seen over the last year or so, we're in the midst of overhauling our roster. We really love the idea of you being a part of that process. What do you think of being a centerpiece for the NEW Phoenix Suns?

Michael Von Ray: Look, Phoenix has had a great run with Nash and Stoudemire, and all. It's time for a change, I get it. To be a part of that rebuilding effort is a big commitment. It's years of struggling to acquire the right pieces to turn everything around. I've seen what this front office can do, and I'm a firm believer they can do it better than anyone else. If they need me, I won't give anything less than 110%.

Here's how the interview with the Utah Jazz went.

Utah Jazz GM: We realize that here in Utahwe don't have the appeal of a Los Angeles, or a New York, or a Chicago. We tend to look for players who would be proud to be a part of this organization. Someone who can really take pride in being a member the Utah Jazz. Someone who is willing to spend their entire career as a member of the Utah Jazz. Are you that person?

Michael Von Ray: I really think I would enjoy being a member of the Utah Jazz. It's hard for you to tell me right now that I will want to play my entire career there though. So many things can happen. So many things can change. I'm not saying that it's something that can't happen; I just don't want to mislead you. I would definitely love to be a member of your team.

Utah Jazz GM: Talk about what you have to improve on as you make the jump to the next level. We'd like to see what you think about your game as a whole.

Michael Von Ray: Primarily my focus, and being mentally tougher. I need to study the game and watch the players in front of me and learn. I also need to learn from the veteran guys so I can step in and contribute when my name is called.

Michael Von Ray

Predicted Draft- 13th pick/Phoenix Suns

Impressed a lot of teams during pre-draft interview. High basketball IQ, high awareness of what's going on around him. Offensively, he's always looking for the open space. Finishes strong on the break and runs the floor effectively.
Far too one-dimensional. On-Ball defense ability is just average. Being able to create with the ball in his hands is not one of his strengths. At times tries to force the issue offensively instead of taking what the defense gives him.

Draft Selections before Von Ray
1. Cleveland Cavaliers-PG Kyrie Irving
2. Minnesota Timberwolves-PF Derrick Williams
3. Utah Jazz-C Enes Kanter
4. Cleveland Cavaliers-PF Tristan Thompson
5. Toronto Raptors-C Nick Brown (Jonas Valanciunas)
6. Washington Wizards-SF Jan Vesely
7 Sacramento Kings-PF Bismack Biyombo
8. Detroit Pistons-PG Brandon Knight
9. Charlotte Bobcats-PG Kemba Walker
10. Milwaukee Bucks-PG Jimmer Fredette
11. Golden State Warriors-SG Klay Thompson
12. Utah Jazz-SG Alec Burks
13. Phoenix Suns-SF Michael Von Ray

Von Ray signed a $1.65 million contract for 2 years with a team option. The role for Von Ray is valuable minutes off the bench.

Okay. Wii's version of My Player is either too easy or just isn't nearly as good.
