Pre-Draft Interviews

Detroit Pistons:

Pistons Scout: The team that we built here in Detroit was a rebuilding effort that didn't quite pan out. Obviously, it's difficult to predict the future, but I expect to see a fair amount of roster turnover as we work towards retooling the lineup for another rebuilding effort. How comfortable would you feel coming into a situation where the roster is in a state of flux?

Ronnie Gale: It sounds to me like you are saying that I should expect a season or two where the roster is built to develop rather than win right away. I can get on-board with that as that would give me time to form chemistry with the other guys on the team. To me, it sounds like the same recipe the Thunder used, and that worked incredibly for them.

Pistons Scout: Do you feel pressure to be good right away in this league?

Ronnie Gale: Honestly, no. I feel confident that any team that drafts me will have patience while I continue to develop my game and adjust to the speed of the NBA game. I'm going to be great some day. I already know that.

Pistons Scout: OK hope to draft you.

Charlotte Bobcats Scout: As a younger team, I feel like we have a lot of opportunities for you. I am here to tell you that you have a chance to be our franchise centerpiece, if you put in the work. How many other teams can offer you that? That being said, we still have a couple years ahead of us where we are going to be acquiring young talent and assets. We might struggle a bit in those years. Are you going to be able to remain focused during the rebuilding years?

Ronnie Gale: I've never really lost in my entire life. I've always been good enough to propel every team I've ever been on to success. I realize the NBA will be different in that regard, at least at the start of my career. This will really test my patience, but as a man, I'm up for the challenge.

Charlotte Bobcats Scout: I see, one more question if you don't mind. Talk about what you have to improve on as you make the jump to the next level. We'd like to see what you think about your game as a whole.

Ronnie Gale: My offensive game is still developing. I like to call it a work in progress, you know? I need to continue taking smart shots, basically take what's given to me. I think I'm coming into this league severely underrated, and I plan on using that to my advantage.

Charlotte Bobcats Scout: OK, I think I have heard all I needed to. I hope to pick you up.

Golden State Warriors Scout: Hi, I'm the head scout for the Golden State Warriors. We feel like we already have some great young guards on our roster, such as Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry. Where do you see yourself fitting in with those guys?

Ronnie Gale: Playing alongside those guys would be great; I really think we would be a great force to be reckoned with once we learn each other's tendencies. Honestly, and this might sound crazy, but I feel like I am much better at calling plays than those guys. I think you know that as well, and that's why you chose to interview me. I want to take this team to the next level.

Golden State Warriors Scout: OK last question, This team has a lot of momentum right now. We went through a rough stretch, and had some recent draft picks that didn't work out so well. With guys like Monta, Curry, and Lee, we feel like we're on the up-and-up. We like what we've seen out of you, but how do you see yourself fitting in with the team.

Ronnie Gale: This sounds a lot like the first question, but I will answer it anyway, I guess...I love the talent on this team already, but I don't understand how they aren't winning 50 games a season to be honest. I really think I can compliment these players, and take the team to the next level, like I said already.

Golden State Warriors Scout: OK thanks, I think I would be glad to have you on the team.

Press Conference After Game

Random Guy: Tonight you made your NBA debut coming off the bench. Were you hoping for more minutes, or was this still a successful beginning toward you career?

Ronnie Gale: Ah, it was a good start, no doubt. I'm still getting used to this team, you know, learning how everyone plays. But coach, and my teammates have been great so far, and I already feel like I'm light years ahead of where I was at the beginning of training camp. I got plenty of room to improve too, so I look at tonight's game like a small first step in what will hopefully be a long and successful career.

OK, I got more points than last game, but I didn't do better than last game. I did worst, maybe equal at the greatest. I got a turnover, and didn't get any assists, rebounds, or steals. I would like to play more, but it is only my first season. I need to earn it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After Game Press Conference
Random Guy: You guys were firing on all cylinders out there tonight. That's got to be a win that makes you fell good about the team as a whole. Agree or disagree?
Ronnie Gale: Agree. Dominant win for us, dominant game for me, and that just shows how capable this team is of being a real contender. We just gotta maintain this level of play night in and night out. I know I can. Now my teammates gotta do the same. And if they do, look out NBA.
Another OK game, but I did put up a career high 12 points. Again I got one turnover, and was lacking rebounds, assists, and steals, but besides that I did pretty good. I hope we can win in the next game though.
After Game Press Conference
Random Woman: The team struggled to stay in the game tonight, and the final score ended up not being even close. Do you think there was anything you or the team could've done differently to change the outcome?
Ronnie Gale: No, not really. I mean like Kobe says, we just wet the bed tonight. A nice big one too. One of the ones you can't put a towel over. Not one of our best efforts by any stretch. But you have to roll with the punches, move on, and get back out there again next time. When everything goes wrong, and it's not one little thing that pushed you over the edge, it's a lot easier to just put it aside and move on to the next game. And that's what we gotta try to do here.
Ronnie Gale: Swagger. It keeps me going. If I got swag, my teammates have swag. If they have swag, I have swag. Easy as that.
Today was a good "teammate" game, I guess. I didn't shoot that much, but I did get a career high 3 assists, and I got two rebounds. I also scored 10 points. I made 2/6 threes, and I made 2/2 free throws. I also got a steal to add up on all of that. I am hoping to get another letter from Mr. Jordan, but I am not sure this is enough...
Random Guy: Your coach was quoted as saying after the game that the team was really broken up after tonight's loss. In fact he said a couple of the guys were even crying about it in the locker room afterwards. What do you have to say about that?
Ronnie Gale: I don't really know what to tell you. Every single player on this team puts it all out there every time they step on the court, and a couple of them wear their hearts on their sleeves. Combine all that with a tough loss like tonight, and sure, some guys are gonna get a little emotional. Nothing wrong with that, man. If anything it's just a reminder of how much these guys care, and how much harder we have to work next time to make sure we don't lose a game like this again. Real talk.
Random Woman: Huge game tonight for someone with your level of experience. Did you feel you were capable of this type of play this early, or did it just come out of nowhere?
Ronnie Gale: I've always had a lot of confidence in my abilities, but I'd be lying if I said I expected this. Look, the NBA is where the best basketball in the world is played night in and night out, and it's not easy to jump right in and ignore the learning curve. I need to prove I can play this way on a more consistent basis before I get too excited though. Don't get me wrong, it was a great game, and I'm proud of the way I played. But let's see if I can do it a few more times, and maybe then we can continue this conversation.
Ahhh...very nice, very nice. This is the kind of game I live for. I had a key game, getting 19 points, 1 Rebound, 4 Assists, 3 Blocks, and 3 Steals. That was the first block of my career. I lowered the amount of turnovers and fouls from last game, just getting two each instead of five each. I was also the Jordan player of the game. I am very proud of myself.
Random Guy: The team really had to earn that win tonight. How did it feel there at the end with the outcome still in question?
Ronnie Gale: I was feeling confident the entire way. I knew that if they got close enough, I'd just drop another dagger on them. These are the kind of situations I thrive in, man. But we sucked it up and got it done. I didn't even have to hit the buzzer beater like I'm sure many of you were hoping I would. There'll be plenty of chances for that moving forward. For now, we'll take the win.
Ronnie Gale: Not a chance man! I could never do that to this team. I could never do that to Coach. I give 100% every single time I step out on the court, and tonight was no different. I know I didn't have a great game, but don't question my effort. Don't ever question my effort. I put my heart and soul into this team, and nothing is more important to me than helping us win some games. Next question please...
Ronnie Gale: It's a real honor man. I have been dreaming about this since I was a little kid. Now I've done it, and it is a true honor. You feel me?
Mwahahahahaha...My first double-double! Didn't think a shooting guard could get 12 assists did you?! I also got 4 steals, and I got my turnovers down. I only had 2. I also got 14 points, which I could do better on, but besides that...Awwwww Yeahhhh! I am super proud of myself. I hope I get a letter from Mr. Jordan! Oh yeah speaking of Jordan, I got the Jordan Player of the Game.
NOTE~I simmed some games before this one, and not all the milestones came from this game.
Random Guy: You were really showcasing your passing skills out there tonight, getting double digit assists for the first time in your career. What was your game plan going in that led to your setting up your teammates so well?
Ronnie Gale: My teammates were great out there tonight, first and foremost. They were really the ones doing the hard work. I just tried to get them the ball when one of them got open. When they're finishing like that, it makes my job easy.
