| Rumors~Starting Pitchers
There are rumors that the Rakuten Golden Eagles are looking for some starting pitchers, and put the guys that can only last about 5 innings in the long relief spot. There are two young 20 year olds that have been looking to be drafted for about 3 years. They were both in the Koshien Playoffs in 2008 and 2009. Lets see if they will be drafted. | |

MVP: Hosokawa~Go-Ahead RBI~Hosokawa
This was basically a pitcher's duel. Both pitchers came to fight, and they put up a well fought fight. The Hawks struck first, and made it 1-0 in the first inning. It was off of a walk with the bases loaded.
The Hawks came around again in the seventh off of an RBI single by Kawasaki. No more damage was done that inning.
The Eagles finally came out to play in the 8th. First Shima walked to first on a bases on balls. With one out Hijirisara got a single to make it men on first and second. Kaz Matsui then got a hit to make the bases loaded, one out with Iwamura coming up. Iwamura started out not so great getting down 0-2 by fouling two off. Then he got back to playing baseball, and got the count to 2-2. Then he got one RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE, and smacked it through second and first making it 2-2 tie ball game.
Then the game went into extras. The pitchers were good getting the game into the 11th without giving up a single hit. Then in the top of the 11th Hosokawa got the go-ahead RBI making it 3-2 Hawks the final.

| May in ReviewI didn't think that the Eagles could do any worse than last month, but they did exactly that. They finished the month going 8-15-1 remaining in 5th Place. That added on to their total record which is 20-34-2. That would make the team's winning percentage .370. T. Hoshi who we thought would be dominating by now, is doing OK, but doesn't get run support. That explains his seven losses with a 3.45 ERA (which is a good ERA). Tomura is doing OK. He leads the team in batting average which is NOT good, because his batting average is only .273. That explains how bad this team really is...Rakuten Golden Eagles Nagai: 1.68 ERA, 4 W, 3 L, 53 K's Tanaka: 2.94 ERA, 2 W, 5 L, 68 K's T. There were people scoring every time you opened your eyes from blinking. The Eagles struck first scoring 4 in the first inning. They scored again in the third to make it five to nothing. The Hawks started to swing their bats in the fifth inning scoring six to make it six to five Hawks. In the bottom of that inning the Eagles put on two, to make it seven to six them. In the seventh the Hawks tied it off of a homer by Kokubo. In the bottom of the inning, the Eagles scored three to make it 10-7 Eagles. Rasner came in to get the save, and gave up another run, but still got the save. 10-8 the final. | |

| June in ReviewThis month was FANTASTIC. It looks like the Eagles have finally came to play some baseball. They have reamained in fifth place, but that is only because of their two terrible months...*coughAprilandMaycough*. Their record for the month was 14-4-0. Amazing! Their overall record is still under .500, but they are getting there. It is now 34-38-2. That is a .472 winning percentage. Lets hope they can get above .500, and maybe get to 4th place in July.
