The Oakland Athletics | Time for the NPB

Happy New Year baseball fans! Well for you guys its not a happy new year. The MLB lockout is still on and there's no sign of it ending anytime soon. We are expecting the MLB to disband this year.

With many MLB players not knowing what to do it is expected we'll see some new teams in the NPB this year. The players from the Oakland Athletics have already joined the NPB and are set to go.

It is expected that this year the NPB will consist of 16 teams (4 expansion teams). The expansion teams will be

-Oakland Athletics (No Japan city yet)
-Tokyo Prospects (This team is filled with this year's top MLB prospects
-Nagoya Ravens (This is a Japanese player team. This teams was in plan for a couple of years and they decided to establish it this year.)
-Kyoto Raiders (This team is expected to be a top team. No one has any idea of where the players will come from but expect it to be a contending team right from the get go.

Don't expect this log to actually start for awhile as Ill probably get the game sometime around November/December. I also will not do this log on MLBPPWORLD as the users there do not like my logs.

Sad News in Baseball Today

Today, baseball fans all around the state of California are sad to hear that Oakland Athletics manager Bob Melvin has died in a tragic car accident. With the A's moving to the NPB in less than a month GM Billy Beane does not know what to do.

The Athletics will be holding a conference tomorrow in Oakland to hire a new manager. If you think youve got a shot then come to Oakland tomorrow!

Me: Who cares?

Mom: I guess you can go, the worst they can do is say no.

Nate Bowser (Owner): We haven't even planned our roster yer. We don't have a single player. Scouts, get on that!

Yoshi Paulino (Head Scout): I'm way ahead of you sir!

Nate: Good! What've you got!

Yoshi: Well Sir, I have 3 scouts at 3 schools. Kanti Tateyama is scouting at Pawafuru University, Ohninori Sakai is scouting at Saikyo University, and Ichizo Tamal is scouting at Mantsuman University of Education.

Nate: An education school! What are we trying to build, a nerd team?!

William Hashimoto (Head Scout): Well implying your strategy of "having fun," we haven't scouted many guys yet. We aren't even close to scouting. As the top Japanese prospects will probably be taken, we are looking at Korean younguns.

Anyway, the Ravens will take me a week or so to make probably because I'll only be playing 2 hours a day and they are all board game players but the Raiders, As, and Prospects could take up to 2 months to make.

Board Game takes only about 5 minutes to complete...

13-year old hired as NPB GM!!!
The Oakland Athletics, renamed the Sapporo Athletics of Oakland, are now being GMed by 13-year-old Lucas Sweany. This kid shows big talent apparently, and is just like Peter Brandt, hired in the Moneyball 2002 season by the now dead Billy Beane.

In the locker room:

Lucas: Hey guys, I'll be your new GM!

A.J. Griffin: Glad to meet you kid.

Jonny Gomes: Yeah, happy to have you. We are sad at the death of Billy though.

Lucas: Thanks guys, I can play some good baseball too.

Jonny: Oh yeah?

Lucas: Yeah! You know that Petaluma all-star team that made it to the LLWS?

Jonny: Oh yeah, we had great support for them!

Lucas: I pitched against them in all-stars and shut them down.

Jonny: Really? That's good to know, we should probably get out there and start practicing though.
